'Avatar: The Last Airbender': Nickelodeon Greenlights TV Spinoff 'The Legend of Korra'

So color me intriguied that anything worth considering is coming out of the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe that is new and exciting whilst the rotting corpse of M. Night Shyamalan’s Last Airbender film is still out there. Personally I see some potential to this as it is by the original creators and promises to hold the spirit that made the series great. I worry about the time change and what that means for the world, and the loss of the great cast of characters in the original series (even just the idea of no more Momo humor alone makes me sad) but the fact that our main character will recieve training from Aang’s son shows that there may be deeper running connections to the original show then we originally thought. While it is clear, as we follow Aang’s successor, I am unsure on whether or not any character of the original series would be alive, even as an elderly person, but Toph was the youngest of the group and I would be more then happy to see her an old, powerful Earth Bender like King Bumi was. So cross your fingers with me and get excited for this series.

Reel Review: The Last Airbender

I’ll preface this review with the fact that I am a big fan of the series, though I have not seen every episode. It was a stellar series that did the most innovation in animation since the likes of Batman: The Animated Series. While I don’t know all of the series, or even the first season this movie is based on, I know more then enough to judge how faithful it is to it, and I also saw it with a friend who had more knowledge then I. Anyways, what follows is my review, as I try to be as unbiased as possible(which I’ll admit will be difficult) but you can find my score review and blurb after the jump and at the very end if you don’t feel like reading a lot.
Video of the arrival of the Fire Nation at the Northern Water Kingdom in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender. In this scene we have Jackson Rathbone as Sokka realizng the Fire Nation’s arrival and then the Water Kingdom soldiers preparing for war in a scene that is properly epic like in the TV, and honestly this makes me very happy. Again, I get to see itTuesday so I hope to have a review for you all by its release.

THE LAST AIRBENDER mythic animals revealed

I’m happy to see Momo and Appa looking so perfect and I honestly can’t wait for this film. Just looks amazing, and it makes my trifecta of must see films this summer.
