Reel Review: The Adjustment Bureau

The Adjustment Bureau is a movie I was honestly excited about from the first trailer. It kinda looked like it could be a good thriller with a bit of Dark City mixed in for good measure. Even with my hate of Green Zone, I was still excited by Matt Damon’s involvement in it as well. Now, it may not have been exactly what I expected, but in no way does that mean its a bad film. It actually is a solid piece of cinema that relies more on character interaction than its sci-fi plot and is all the better for it.

I’m kinda back

Dear followers, I know I have been away for a while, but it has been some strange times. I spent the last 6 months of 2010 working 12 hours a day, barely getting to see films. The last month or so, and now, I am at school trying to settle in to do better (I did bad last year)

I want to keep this site alive as I love writing about movies and sharing my opinions of them with you, and as such I am truly trying to get back to doing that. Today at 10 CST I will be posting my review of the Adjustment Bureau. As usual it is a bit long but I have my score and Reelization at the bottom for you lazy people. I also have recently seen an advanced screening of Paul, and I will get a review of that up the day before its premier (sorry, still no early reviews) I don’t know if I’ll be able to see/review anything in between those, but hopefully you guys are still interested and will read what I do have for you.

Hey guys, I know I haven’t been posting but that’s because my schedule has gotten really to hectic to post movie and TV only stuff for Reelizations, but I have decided to finally start my own personal Tumblr, Clynically & Cynically Insane.

If you like the movie and TV stuff I already post here but also have an interest in comics, video games, my movie making stuff and other nerdy stuff then you’ll probably like this blog too. So I ask you, if you follow me here at Reelizations, please follow the link above and follow Clynically & Cynically Insane for at least a week and if you won’t like the posts then please feels free to stop following me. I won’t feel to hurt ;)

Ben Folds, Nick Hornby, & Pomplamoose VideoSong!!!!

I know its been out for a few days, but I didn’t think it would have such a hold on me then but now I can’t get it out of my head. I’ve liked Pomplamoose for a while now but I was never really into Ben Folds. However, this song is lots of fun and Hornsby’s lyrics are terrific, and now I think I need to buy this new album Ben Folds and him are doing together. Oh, and for how it relates to movies….well Nick Hornsby is a writer who has some books turned into films and the video, like most Pomplamoose videos, is a really cool way of showing all the aspects of the song being recorded.

This is almost making me as happy as the movie did, and as such I pas the joy along to you.

I love me some Bill Murray so I’m proud to say I knew a fair amount of this, but its always nice to learn more about an actor I’ve loved all my life.

STRATEGIES FOR REALIZING HELL

Daniel Day Lewis is in this film and he plays Uncle Sam.

As an initiate of Martin Scorsese’s cinema, I’ll keep my remarks brief. I hope to minimize blowback by understating my case.
